I currently own and operate a Mobile Notary Public business. I am a Reading Instructor at Fresno City College.  Collectively, I have 25 years of experience in Public Education from teaching Kindergarten to Community College. I have served as an elected School Board Trustee for Golden Valley Unified School District in Madera County. I am a graduate from Vermont Law School with a Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Policy. I am a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and hold a Master Degree from Fresno State University in Education and Literacy. I worked as a Climate Reality Leader and was trained by Vice President Al Gore. I am the Secretary of the Madera County Democratic Central Committee and an elected Delegate to Region 4. I received the Madera Democratic Central Committee’s Award for grassroots spirit in 2016.

My daughter, Olivia, currently attends a California State University. Many of the dear families in our community were very much a part of my daughter’s upbringing with soccer, fun, and education. Stephen Smith is my life partner. Stephen is an Attorney. We live in Rural Southeastern Madera County.

My past work experience includes entrepreneurial experience. I founded the Green Footprint Company, a start-up waste grease biodiesel company, at the Water and Energy Technology Incubator at CSUF.  I have been a very strong voice for renewable energy and healthy ecosystems as a leader in the green Energy revolution.  I organized for the Madera Water and Land Use Study Group to learn about area environmental concerns, climate change and the true costs of sprawling developments which have helped to mobilize the affordable housing movement. I saved my home during the recession, by working as a Field Coordinator, to put rooftop solar on many homes in the Central Valley, enabling hundreds of families to enjoy lower cost sustainable energy.

I believe all of our children and young adults are the future, and we need to Come Together to pay-it-forward for their success, pursuit of happiness, and dreams. This requires a much greater tolerance of differences and equality than what is available now.  Love heals and where there is hate let love grow.

Solutions include community restorative justice, good jobs, healthcare, a strong economy and healthy environment, reinforced by a top notch education, that works for  everyone of us in AD5, including the poor and homeless with solid common good & social safety net programs that promotes self-sufficiency and interdependence, from the Federal, State and Local  Government for the disabled, for our seniors, and for those aiming to work more who are unemployed or underemployed, and provide strong protections and enforcement of our civil and natural rights for all people, our communities and our environment.  In other words, let’s make our communities sustainable now and for a long time to come into perpetuity.

Assembly District 5 is not Republican or Democrat but is Golden California, diverse and a delight to our hearts in stories, people, history, faith, art, beauty, nature and culture.  So, Let’s work together for a better California.

I need your vote, so, I can help you!  What can I do to help you, your family or community in our district specifically?  Please feel free to email at or call me at (559) 514-1601.
