I had a great weekend with Calaveras County folks at events in Murphys, Angels Camp, and Big Trees. It was especially nice to stay at the Murphys hotel on Friday evening. For all our worry, the air quality was okay-good and we felt safe because the Ferguson Fire and other fires were extinguished in the area-thanks to all who helped to do so. Thank you to my supporters, Arlene and Charnette, Anne, and Bruce and so many more for your support and time talking with me to understand your concerns and hopes! I am going to work for you on better broadband to the mainstreet businesses, cannabis business support and I will work to bring more money for mental health, healthcare (more nurses and doctors to our rural hospitals, clinics and counties) for everyone to have healthCARE!!!!!! Additionally, I fully support teachers, administrators in providing quality education, comprehensive property insurance for homes with a public option (if private insurance says your home is too risky and uninsurable, like folks in Oakhurst are telling me), clean water and fire safety maximized when elected. I Will be back soon and will call to work on the event we talked over coffee at Gold Country Roasters in Murphys.
On Sunday, I was in Sacramento with Democracy for America training and thank you for the great lessons provided by Susan, Brieanna Fisher, Jim Dean, and Anoa Changa!
I may be the inexperienced candidate for State Assembly, but I am on the road to being the the best candidate for the people, jobs and our environment on the ballot with the best platform on issues that matter! This next week I will be in Madera (of course!), Amador County and then in El Dorado for events and Getting out the Vote fun! I am also starting my fall semester at Fresno City this week and am sorry to miss the Evening in the Pines in Twain Harte in Tuolumne County on Thursday. I hope many good people show up for this fine evening to hear Jessica Morse, Congressional Candidate in CD 4 and Kevin de Leon, candidate for US Senate speak. Thank you Anne for speaking on my behalf Thursday evening while I am still working. If elected, I will be your representative full-time, until then I still work my two jobs as a educator and a notary public, in addition to campaigning. This is just the start of more good to come!
